Game of Thrones Cover Design

One of my projects sophomore year for my graphic design class was to take an already existing book series and redesign three of the covers. I chose George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series—better known for it’s on-screen adaptation, HBO’s Game of Thrones. I knew I wanted to make something very simple, so I chose one important/recognizable scene from each book, and made a silhouette illustration of each. I also made the choice of each book being accompanied by a specific color scheme.

Savor Menu

One of my projects sophomore year was to design a menu from scratch for a fictitious restaurant that we ourselves create. We drew restaurant types out of a bag, and I drew “vegan”. I’m pretty clueless about about vegan cuisine so I had to do a decent amount of research to learn what dishes and foods I should include in my menu. I also tried to imitate the aesthetics of other vegan restaurant menus that I found.

Lubot

I was tasked with designing an imaginary robot using Adobe Illustrator for one of my Intro to Digital Art courses. I decided I wanted my robot to be based on NBA player Luguentz Dort, of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Dort’s signature skill as a basketball player is his strength and lockdown defense. As a result I gave him four robotic arms. I also included his iconic hair and headband along with the rest of his OKC uniform (in robot form).

Time-Out Magazine

My sophomore year, one of our assignments was to create a magazine from scratch. We could choose any topic we wanted, but had to maintain a consistent theme throughout. I chose to feature a fake article about the University of Miami men’s club basketball team. I included quotes

International Typographic Style

Sophomore year, my graphic design professor gave our class a project meant to help familiarize us with many of the famous artists and design styles of the last 50-ish years. We all blindly drew out of a hat, and then were tasked with emulating that artist or style we drew.

Rolling Land Travel Poster

At the end of sophomore year I had to make a travel poster for a fictitious place or planet. I had tickets for the music festival “Rolling Loud”, so I made my poster about a place where Rolling Loud never ends; hence, “Rolling Land”.

Music Festival Icons

This was one of my first professional geared projects that I ever did in college. We were tasked with creating icons for four related things of our choice. I had recently purchased tickets to Rolling Loud Miami, and so I chose to make icons pertaining to music festivals. On their website they had tabs for “tickets”, “bottle service”, “lineup”, and “hotels”. Admittedly, the latter two aren’t amazing, but they are the originals from when I was 18 so I wanted to include the group of 4 as a whole.
